rest for my soul

Father,

Thank you for providing for us.

Thank you for our house, our beds, our food.

Thank you for our children, and for your protection over them.

Thank you for the ways you have blessed and multiplied in our lives this week.

There are some weights that I feel.

Things that are out of my control

Things that are not going as I hoped or planned

Things that are not right, yet.

People who are drawn toward darkness

People who are sick and weary

People who are grieving

But I believe You when You say,

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
